The Team

Host and producer – Chris David

has 11 years of experience filming outdoor television. Chris chose to start his current project “The Hunting Chronicles” over 6 years ago now and has never looked back. Aside from the widely popular TV show, Chris has been a successful outfitter in Hinton, Alberta, for over 12 years now. As a professional hunter/outdoorsman, Chris has been fortunate enough to harvest numerous Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young animals. He donates time each summer to teaching kids the basics of archery through his local Fish & Game Association as well. Chris possesses a Bachelor of Art’s in Marketing from Lake Superior State University in the United States and was recently awarded the 2011 “Impact Award” at Wild TV’s Grizzly Awards. This award is presented to the person who has made the biggest positive impact in the Canadian Hunting Television Industry over a period of time.


Host – Jason Spenst

Jason Spenst – Jason graduated from Lethbridge Community College with a diploma in Renewable Resource Management and a specialization in Fish and Wildlife Technology which led him to the University of Lethbridge where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree. Working as a biologist for Ducks Unlimited Canada, Jason honed his skills and continued his career as an Environmental Planner for Grande Cache Coal and eventually Coal Valley. His education and work gives him an intimate knowledge and understanding of both fish and wildlife behaviour, which dictates into success in the field and backstraps on the bar-b-que. With a deep desire to find the next adventure Jason never turns down the opportunity to exchange wits with any big game species using any legal method and weapon allowed.


Host – Kevin Spenst

With nearly 5 years of dedication to ‘The Hunting Chronicles” TV Show and numerous years of guiding experience, his love for the outdoors is unquestioned. At a very young age Kevin and his brothers were filming their hunts over the past 20 years, starting off with the old VHS cameras their equipment along with their skills soon progressed into the fantastic quality HD video and memorable TV personalities of today. Kevin is a die hard outdoorsman and is truly at home in the great outdoors. With a preference for his bow and numerous great trophies taken, he has started to rewrite the Pope and Young Record Book. Our viewers love his positive attitude and genuine love for the adventure. Growing up in an outdoor setting his whole life, Kevin brings a wealth of hunting experience and knowledge to ‘The Hunting Chronicles’ TV Show.


Field Host – Clay Roberts

Clay is now on his second year with The Hunting Chronicles team as our production manager and has been instrumental in helping the team achieve a higher level of service towards our sponsors. Clay excels in problem solving and always has a positive attitude. Whitetail are this mans animal of choice. Clay is one of very few people that consistently harvests big mature trophy bucks, with several of them scoring in the official all-time B&C books. Watch for Clay to make a huge contribution on camera this season.


Field Host – Ray Hesterman

Ray is the oldest member of the team but, he is young at heart. Ray has a passion for the outdoors and was raised in a hunting and fishing environment from the time he was just a little boy and carries that tradition with his own son today. Ray has a big heart and can often be found donating to many different causes/charities that he supports. A hard working man and a very resourceful individual, Ray brings a great work ethic to our team. Ray has an eye for the camera and works meticulously to get the right angles and shots that our viewers get to see. Ray has been fortunate enough to have harvested some great trophies over the years with his bow, including a Boone and Crockett cougar from Idaho.
